Creative Childless Singles on Autogyros – How Will Muscovites Live in 2035?

How will Moscow and its residents look like in 2035? The president of International Academy of Future Research, Alexander Ageev, shared his prediction.
Current tendencies show that Moscow will further flourish as a center of science, culture and higher education, Ageev argued. It will be a city of creativity with the majority of Muscovites boasting university degrees. The futurologist highlighted the most demanded jobs in Moscow 20 years later: teachers, engineers, doctors, psychologists and creators of all kinds. The most interesting point, in my opinion, is that hobbies will gradually merge with jobs. Therefore people will make money of what they like doing. A good point, isn’t it! However, at the same time the number of the so-called chronic idlers is likely to grow as well, with rich kids largely contributing to this phenomenon.
According to the expert, an average Muscovite of 2035 will live in a rented flat. The rental market will reach the European level and become way more affordable. A Muscovite is expected to earn twice as much as residents in other Russian regions – just like now. The city will continue attract people from other regions, as well as from other countries, like a magnet, the scientist said.
The number of singles without kids may go up. A big patriarchal/traditional family will be a feature of successful people, Ageev said.
Surprisingly, the vacation trend is likely to change, too. Instead of going abroad, Muscovites will explore Russia. The lifestyle is going to remain in its present form: work, home, going out, social media, gym.
Ageev believes that we are now witnessing the rise of a trend that will dominate in 20 years – the love for healthy lifestyle. Therefore in 2035 Muscovites will have an appetite for healthy eating and massively give up on alcohol.
As the plague of traffic jams will never be solved, Muscovites can make use of new technologies. According to Ageev, they will eagerly fly personal aircraft such as the long-forgotten airships and gyrocopters. This phenomenon will be observed mostly in the Moscow Region, since it will hardly be allowed in the center. The Moscow Metro is expected to continue playing its key role.
